Sat in on, or took for credit, about 40 credit hours of music classes at Penn State while a graduate student (1984-1990), including music theory, ear training, sight singing, conducting, jazz improvization, classical guitar, etc.
Wrote a flexible and easily customized ear training language called HEAR, designed and implemented in Turbo Prolog for the IBM PC using the built-in speaker (melody) and/or the IBM PC Music Feature Board (melody/harmony) (1987).
At Armstrong World Industries Research and Development, worked with Engineering on a innovative color matching project using an Apple II running a UCSD Pascal operating system (1983).
At Armstrong World Industries Research and Development, rewrote a lighting and glare analysis FORTRAN program to greatly improve the efficiency of the program (1982).
At Armstrong World Industries Research and Development, designed and implented a (static) graphics system for serveral plotters and terminals attached to a DEC-10 running TOPS-10 (1981-1983).
